Islands Add Another Leg to 'Arm' Tour![]() Fresh from their hyped set at SXSW (Stereogum declared them "the best of this fest"), Islands have announced a full tour to accompany the release of their new album, Arm's Way, out May 20. The tour will bring them to 40 destinations in North America and will follow an anticipated appearance at another huge festival — Coachella. Arm's Way is the second album for the Canadian-bred rockers. Their first release, 2006's Return to the Sea, solidified the colorful indie-rock group as an official indie staple and not just as "that band featuring the guys from The Unicorns." The Unicorns were a short-lived indie cult fave, and Islands' current member Nick T. and former member Jamie Thompson used to be a part of the group. "The Arm" is the first track to be released from the album and finds the group picking up where it left off on Sea — delivering more of the group's unique brand of excitable, quirk-meets-power pop. However, "Creeper," which recently popped up here and there, has been described as a darker twist on the sound, perhaps hinting at a more diverse album. The 40-date tour kicks off May 22.
