She & Him Postpone Date; Recruit Yo La Tengo For 'Conan'
Indie darlings She & Him had to postpone the first date of their tour — scheduled for tonight in NYC — due to illness.

The super-duo of M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel (stars of indie rock and indie film, respectively) recently released a well-received album, Volume One, and have already played a handful of shows to support it, including a much-hyped set at SXSW. (Watch a Buzznet clip of She & Him performing at SXSW.) But tonight was to be the kickoff of a proper, if not short, tour.
"Due to illness, tonight's performance of She & Him at Hiro Ballroom
has been postponed to a TBA date," the group said in a post on its MySpace. "We're still working out the details
for the new date, but we ask customers to be patient and hold on to
their tickets until a new date is announced, all tickets from the
original date will be honored. We'll have more details very shortly,
thanks for your understanding."
Lucky for fans, the remaining dates are still intact, as is their appearance on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" tomorrow night. While it probably doesn't appease tonight's ticket holders, the rest of us can look forward to an extra-special "Conan" performance, in which
She & Him will be backed by
Yo La Tengo (upping the indie ante even more).
After the tour, Ward will return to performing solo as he tackles the festival circuit, with stops at Pitchfork, Outside Lands Festival and Austin City Limits.
